C.R. Onsrud RH0Series (Roller Hold Down) CNC routers provide the ultimate in flexibility for CNC routing – single sheet / stacked sheet, small part / large part, rollers engaged / disengaged – delivering the capability and flexibility of having multiple CNC machines for the cost (and footprint) of one. The rugged, fixed bridge design of our RH-Series machines features 2 fully automated rollers on each side of the cutting spindle envelope, which engage the sheet material to maintain firm contact with the router’s table. The RH-Series design makes this machine perfect for holding down warped stock, multiple stacked sheets, or when machining narrow, and low surface area parts. This is the ideal solution for manufacturing furniture frame components and upholstered frame CNC router parts. Each roller offers full, independent control over regulating holding pressure, which serves to prevent premature wear and tear (which may occur on other brands) due to continuous slamming of rollers into the table and/or raw material. It is important to understand the rollers are designed to supplement (not replace) the standard vacuum holding, creating optimal performance and maximum speed without moving parts. Roller hold down maximizes speed and output when cutting large qualities of single sheets or stacked sheets (as in this video), or when machining parts too small to be held by vacuum alone. The rollers help to prevent accidental slippage of the top sheet of stacked material and provide the holding power for effective, accurate cutting of warped sheets to minimize waste and maximize yield. The regulated pressure of each roller prevents premature wear and "slamming" of the rollers. When cutting single sheets, or other materials such as plastics or aluminum, the rollers can be disengaged. This was our technology in 2015.
